I have spent the last two weeks teaching Snaps' mercenaries how to shoot and defend themselves. It does not seem like they are getting it, save the Besalisk, Jix Hyde. Dominick has taken an online leadership course, how he did I am not sure since it is hard to get reception enough for me to even communicate with my superiors. He has also been watching, amused, at the progress I have made with the men.
We hear a blast coming from the garage so we go down to investigate. We see a Zabrak standing in our garage. He says that his name is Telvak. He is from another gang and has heard that the Golden Hawkbats are getting Alliance help and was hoping that we would help his, too. We see the main doors to the garage has been blown in and we hear multiple DC-15S firing. All of Snaps' gang decide to peek around the corner. Guess I will have to add 'not everyone has to look around the corner' to my regimen I think to myself as I fight the urge to do a face palm. Hermit decides to take a random pot shot and takes out an enemy. Good for him he is learning. Around the corner, I learn, is the rival gang, the ones causing all of the problems in the lower level, the Brass Sabres. Telvak was able to push some of the main bay door into the door jam to provide enough cover for 3 people. He, Shavven, and Hermit take the position behind the door and Roka moves to hide behind the doorjam. Dominick takes off to take sniper position up on the roof of the office area. He gets a visual on the leader and sends it to our HUDs. Those who do not have a HUD he send to a nearby vid-screen. It says "Priority Target" in big red letters so I get my long rifle ready. I do not recognize him but a couple of the gang members tell me that his name is "Happy" Harry Malone and is the leader of the Brass Sabres. I hear Dominick contact Derryn to tell him that we are under attack. Jix and Telvak attempt to throw a speeder but the speeder is tethered to the wall. I take a shot at "Happy". I see him grab his right shoulder and his face winces in pain. I take another shot at him, and I distract the gang members. I miss and Happy runs away like the coward he is. I see the all familiar shape of a YT-2400 come down for a landing. I see something is not quite right with the ship but Derryn seems able to patch it up on the fly. He hovers sideways and I see the ramp open. I see a large lizard like creature in the bottom turret and a human on the ramp with a familiar sight: an E-web. I take cover behind the wall. Suddenly, the room is laced with fire as the human shoots the E-Web. He has taken 2 guys out and wounded a third. The lizard then shoots from his turret and kills 2 more guys and wounds another. I look across the garage where Vosh, a Gand mechanic is trying to rig a battery bomb to his blaster. Unfortunately, he mixes up the wires and ends up draining the charge on his blaster. A bright light diverts my attention back to Derryn's ship. I look just in time see the first group melt where they stand. I have seen a lot of gruesome things in my lifetime but you never get used to seeing someone melt from laser cannons. The final has apparently never seen anything like it because they start running away. Good, that'll teach them to mess with us I thought. All of a sudden, I see lizard man fire his turret and annihilate all of the final group. I feel that was unjustified and for a minute I feel angry. But I guess it was probably for the best. They didn't leave their weapons so they were still a threat so I bite my tongue. Telvak rushes toward the 2 gang members still alive and raises his melee weapon. They surrender before he gets to them. He considers killing them anyways but then relents and takes their weapons instead. He marches them inside for interrogations. We pick through the mess of bodies. I find 2 stimpacks and I pocket them. Shavven finds and growls out a poem. Even though his voice is not very pleasant to listen to, we all feel inspired when he is finished. Vosh charges his blaster back up on a speeder battery. We now have 2 prisoners to interrogate. Telvak robs them dry and jabs the wounded one in the shoulder to try and extract information from him. Add 'how to interrogate prisoners' to the list. My mental list is getting pretty long. Derryn convinces them that their boss abandoned them and tells them to tell him where their boss is hiding out. The wounded prisoner says that the Golden Hawkbats should know where their boss is and to ask them. I can see that we are not getting anywhere so I tell Derryn that I got this and I tell them that since their boss has abandoned them they are now homeless. I tell them that there is protection and room in the Golden Hawkbats if they will fight with us. The wounded one thought that would be nice but died before I could completely convince him. His buddy, though, ended up converting to the Golden Hawkbats. So we now have Alliance backup, and 2 more under city recruits to the group.

The cantina is so smoky you can hardly see through it. The first thing you notice are the crashed swoop bikes hanging from the ceiling. There are shelves lining the wall filled with helmets that, from the looks of the scratches and the cracks in the helmets, honor the dead swoop bikers. Above the bar is a HoloTV that is playing a swoop race. Whether the race is live or an old race, I cannot tell. Displayed in one corner are a couple of arcade swoop racing games. In another corner is a dartboard, where a group of patrons are playing a semi-friendly game. Along the bar is a track where a couple of miniature swoop bikes "race" around. There are a few drunks around the bar. Twi'lek females dance on stage while males stare lustfully at them. Such is the daily life in the Swoop Inn, I would expect, I thought as I entered the cantina with Derryn Dunekicker and his brother Dominick.
There is a Besalisk in one of the booths, accompanied by a Duros and a Twi'lek. The Besalisk seems to be staring at me so I shoot him a dirty look. Too many years of a soldier has hardened the ASO performer I used to be. I notice a Shistavanen in the corner spills his drink when he sees me. Interesting reaction, but I have seen that before, too. Derryn identifies the Twi'lek as Angelo "Snaps" Provolone and signals us to keep our post. He starts toward Snaps when he is stopped by the bouncer, a Herglic apparently named Bob. Bob says "If you are here to see Snaps, You have to talk to me first." Derryn somehow convinces Bob that it was OK and Bob takes him to Snaps. Derryn sits down next to the group. The Duros says "I think your rebel contact is here." Derryn replies sarcastically, "Ya think?" He explains that "Ice Man" (Dom) and I are here to train Snap's men and that the Flying Bantha Trading Company are working on getting firearms for the gang. Derryn's 2nd father is in full swing of the star fighter production, to which everyone but the Besalisk was clueless as to what "2nd father" means. Derryn continues "The alliance is willing to provide arms and fighters as long as you are willing to help take the planet back from the Imperials." Snaps replies "I am only worried about down here, then we will see about up there." Derryn says "We are all in. You can expect your first delivery in about a week." Then Derryn asks if there is a place down here to land his ship. Snaps says "Yea it is down below" and gives him clearance to land. Derryn leaves Dom and I here. Snaps and the Besalisk leaves to go to the garage. He ends up giving an OLD republic scout that is literally stripped to the frame and the engine is gone. He says "If you can fix it, you can have it." A few minutes later, Derryn arrives with his ship. He lands it and lowers the ramp. Snaps wants to see the goods so Derryn leads him on board and shows him the firearms. There are crates of DC-15s and DC-17s. Snaps examines the guns and chooses two DC-17s to keep for himself. Back up in the cantina, we find out that the Duros name is Hermit Cath, and he is basically a mercenary and wants a job that pays cash, not in food only, the Shistavanen is a demolition happy alien named Shavven that is a little psychotic when you get a few drinks in him, the Besalisk's name is Jix Hide and is a mechanic for the garage Undertow. A group arrived on Drukenwell looking for a bounty on some Nexu's that had escaped their owner, dead or alive. On the way of hunting down these Nexu, the party came across a group of swoop gangers, who decided to follow them. After defeating the Nexu, the swoop gangers were asked why they were following the party. Turns out, they wanted to know what we were going to do with the dead Nexu (yes, I said DEAD Nexu) and they told the gang that they could have it. The gang was happy to hear that but then informed the group that they needed help down in the lower parts of Drukenwell. There was a rival gang of humans that were getting their firepower from the Imperial Army to "keep the peace". While there were always rivalry between these gangs, they always settled their problems on the track, however, lately there has been some bombings and random killings coming from this gang. They asked the party for help and the leader of the group, Derryn Dunekicker, said that the Alliance may be able to help them out as far as training their men and providing firearms. The gangs seemed grateful and said they would inform their boss...
